Velez Presented Two Papers on Buddhism at AAR Annual Meeting
Dr. Abraham Velez, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion and Affiliated Faculty of Asian Studies, presented two papers—“Are Buddhist Supremacist Claims Really Buddhist?” and “Discipleship and the Possibility of Buddhist-Christian Belonging”—at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion in Atlanta, GA on November 21-24, 2015. The American Academy of Religion brings thousands of professors and students, authors and publishers, religious leaders and interested laypersons to its Annual Meeting each year. Co-hosted with the Society of Biblical Literature, the Annual Meetings are the largest events of the year in the fields of religious studies and theology.
